AI and research
Using AI to organize freelance research responsibly
A cautious workflow for using AI to sort research and draft a plan while keeping source checks, privacy and human decisions in view.

AI can help structure material you provide, but it cannot make unverified facts reliable. A useful workflow keeps source material, analysis and final decisions separate so errors are easier to catch.
Start with material you can share
Use public sources or information you have permission to process. Remove personal details and confidential client information unless the client agreement, provider terms and your security process allow that use.
When using a third-party AI service, check its current privacy and data-retention terms. OpsSolo does not control what an external provider does with data you choose to submit.
Ask for traceable work
Give the model clear source material and ask it to preserve links, identify unsupported statements and separate observations from suggestions. For search research, record the country, language and date, then validate the live search results yourself.
Do not treat generated keyword lists, search-volume estimates or draft recommendations as guaranteed demand or rankings. Keep the original provider output so you can revisit its limits.
Make the final call yourself
Review the output for factual accuracy, scope and fit with your business. A human should make decisions involving contracts, taxes, client commitments, money or private data.
Questions about this topic
What information should not be pasted into an AI tool?
Do not submit confidential client information, personal data or credentials unless you have authorization and have checked the provider’s current terms and your own security obligations.
How should AI-assisted research be checked?
Open the cited sources, confirm the claims in context, and record the relevant market and date for information that can change. Treat unsupported output as a draft, not evidence.
